What is free, exactly
We want to be clear about what you can do for free. When you upload a photo of your home and pick a scene, you can generate a free preview: a still image that shows Santa placed inside your real photo, with a watermark. It lets you check how Santa fits in your room, how the lighting looks, and whether you picked the right scene — before you spend anything.
The finished, moving video is a paid one-time purchase. We do not offer a free full video, and we do not hide a subscription behind a "free" button. You see the preview first, and you only pay if you want the video.
How to get your free preview
- Take a landscape photo of your living room, fireplace, table, or front door, with no people in it.
- Upload it in the generator above or on the home page (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 5 MB).
- Choose one of the five scenes: Gifts under the tree, Cookies and milk, Chimney arrival, Doorbell visit, or Santa says shh.
- Pick the night shown on the camera, from December 20 to December 25.
- Click "See a free preview." You will be asked to sign in with Google or an email and password, and your photo and choices are kept while you do.
The preview appears in your browser. If you like it, you can unlock the video right away. If you already know what you want, you can skip the preview and go straight to the video.
Why we show a preview before you pay
AI results depend heavily on the photo. A preview shows you, in seconds, whether your photo works: whether there is enough space for Santa, whether the room is bright enough, and whether the scene suits it. If something looks off, you can take a new photo or choose another scene before buying anything. That saves you money and leads to better videos.
What the paid video adds
When you unlock the full video, the preview image becomes the first frame of a clip about 15 seconds long. Santa moves through your room while the camera stays fixed, and the footage carries a night-time home-camera look with a REC indicator, a camera label, and a ticking timestamp for the date you picked. The paid video has no watermark. You can download it as an MP4 or share it with a link.
Generation usually takes 3 to 8 minutes, and we email you when it is ready, so you can close the page while you wait.
Pricing, with no surprises
- 1 video: $7.99
- 3 videos: $16.99 (about $5.66 each)
- 1 HD video: $12.99
These are one-time packs. There is no subscription, and nothing renews automatically. Each paid video includes one free remake if the first result is not right. If a generation fails, your credit returns to your balance automatically. Unused credits can be refunded if you ask within 14 days of purchase. See the pricing page and our refund policy for the full terms.
Tips to make the most of your preview
- Match the photo to the scene: a fireplace for Chimney arrival, a front door for Doorbell visit.
- Leave open floor in front of the tree or fireplace.
- Turn on the tree lights and a lamp.
- Shoot in landscape, from a slightly high angle like a real home camera.

Your photo stays private
Previews and photos are private to your account. Unpaid photos and previews are deleted automatically after 3 days, so trying the free preview does not leave your home photos sitting on our servers. Read the privacy policy for details.
Is a free preview enough?
For some people, the preview image is all they need — a fun still of Santa standing in their living room to send to a friend. That is completely fine, and it costs nothing. The paid video is for when you want the full caught-on-camera moment: Santa moving through your room, the REC light, and the ticking timestamp that makes the clip feel like real home footage. Seeing the preview first simply means you know exactly what you are paying for.
